Those who know the Michael and Terri Klauber personally can attest that they have truly fallen in love with a magical place: Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. The Klaubers have been privileged to travel to South Africa, leading groups of clients on Gulf Coast Connoisseur Club journeys in partnership with Admiral Travel International, on several occasions. During their most recent trip this past summer, the idea to create a special opportunity for Sarasota to get a glimpse of South Africa’s amazing culinary experiences began…

Now, Londolozi Game Reserve Executive Chef Anna Ridgewell will journey from South Africa to host several unique events!

SAFARI SARASOTA
An Interactive Cooking Experience
Hosted by Executive Chef Anna Ridgewell from Londolozi Game Reserve
Friday, November 8, 2013
6:30 p.m. at Michael’s On East Ballroom

Enjoy the many Flavors of the Historic Spice Route with Original Cape Malay Recipes, Paired with Top South African Wines!

The Safari Sarasota menu will feature signature Londolozi Game Reserve recipes:

  • African Twist on the Ritz – Prawns, Scallops, Lemon, Garlic, Chili, Coriander, Cherry Tomatoes & Avocado
  • Pan-Seared Kingklip with a Chermoula Sauce & Moroccan Couscous Salad
  • Garam Masala-Rubbed Filet of Beef with an African Hollandaise, Roasted Red Peppers, Swiss Chard & Roasted Fingerling Potatoes
  • Flambéed Banana with an Amarula Cream Sauce & Chocolate Macadamia Praline

Beth Knopik and Terri Klauber are co-chairs of this highly-anticipated first-time event, a fundraiser for the new All Heart Fund of the Good Work Foundation, a nonprofit established in South Africa in 2006 which delivers digital-era literacy education and career-training to children and adults living in rural communities. The newly-created “All Heart” program will create opportunities for students to travel to larger communities and cities for unique educational and leadership experiences and to connect with real-life businesses. In addition, one special student will be chosen to receive the Leanna Knopik Cup, an annual award which honors the student who demonstrates the biggest “heart.” Visit www.goodworkfoundation.org for more information about these special projects.

“All Heart” Patron Tickets: $250 (Includes Admission to 11/7 South African Wine Tasting)
General Admission Tickets: $150
